News at ICMM

  1. The ICMM's International Scientific Advisory Board meets our research groups

During those meetings, our research groups presented their main research lines, strategic plan, and envisaged actions to the experts
  2. Neuropic, an EIC Pathfinder project coordinated by ICMM-CSIC, holds annual meeting at INL (Braga) with "promising progress"

Neuropic, an EIC Pathfinder project coordinated by ICMM-CSIC, holds annual meeting at INL (Braga) with "promising progress"
  3. The ICMM hosts the 'proERC' event to promote the participation of CSIC personnel in European Research Council calls

The event took place on Monday, September 16, and attracted nearly fifty registered attendees.
  4. Olga Arroyo is defending her thesis: "Contributing to more fundamental research is also very exciting"

She started her PhD alongside Leonor Chico Gómez, currently working at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
  5. Jorge Marqués, new doctor at the ICMM: "I feel I can contribute with novel ideas in my field"

"As I want to continue my scientific career, I will go do a postdoc (in Germany) to explore the emerging field of 3D nanomagnetism and gain international experience", he sais.
  6. ICMM researchers eliminate microplastics from water with iron oxide nanoflowers

Research staff has developed a green and energy-efficient process to eliminate microplastics from cosmetics. The method removes contaminants from the water and degrade them until they disappear, which has great applications in waste treatment plants.

  8. How nanotechnology can help medicine against neurodegenerative diseases

The ICMM-CSIC reviews advances in these techniques and their contributions to these diseases.
  9. Researchers create a new method to increase the energy generated from seaweed

Bernd Wicklein, ICMM-CSIC, participates in a study that has combined conductive materials with a biopolymer present in seaweed to generate renewable energy that can be applied in nanodevices.
  10. ICMM participates in a project to produce green hydrogen more efficiently and economically

The H2umidity technology incorporates advanced materials to develop an electrolyzer that improves energy efficiency and reduces the costs of hydrogen production.
