Lingfei Yang comes from China and arrived at the ICMM last February. He is a predoctoral researcher who joined the Heterostructures for Optics and Optoelectronics group. Outside of research, he tells us that he’s really looking forward to exploring Europe.
What have you worked on so far?
My previous research focused on organometallic chemistry, specifically the synthesis of novel ligand structures and metal complexes, and exploring their potential as fluorescent probes.
What will you work on? With whom?
Heterostructures for Optics and Optoelectronics group with Dooshaye Moonshiram.
Why ICMM?
Compared to synthesis, I'm more interested in understanding the mechanisms and nature of chemical reactions through characterization and analysis. At ICMM, I can focus more on the study and research of time-resolved X-ray absorption, which is very appealing to me.
And a personal touch: any hobbies? What would you like to contribute to the institute?
I enjoy playing badminton with friends and watching superhero movies like Marvel and DC. If possible, I'd also love to travel around Europe; that would be very appealing to me. When I'm at home, I usually cook and play computer games.
