Gádor Calleja Bravo is a new member at the Materials Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC), where she is working as a new Directorate Management Support. She was born in Granada, but she has lived in different cities. "I have also had the opportunity to live abroad in England and Switzerland where I did my Erasmus. This has allowed me to get to know many people and different cultures. It has made me a tolerant and open-minded person", she tells.
What have you worked on so far?
Despite having studied Tourism, I have worked in multiple sectors. I began in hospitality, gaining valuable experience at prestigious hotels such as Eurostars Madrid Tower and Rosewood Villa Magna, where I was honored to win the national "Receptionist of the Year" competition. Later on, I expanded my professional career into the pharmaceutical tech sector, working at the start-up Evolufarma, where I worked directly with the CEO and the Commercial Director. And finally, I moved into the education sector with roles at IE Business School (Admissions & Financial Aid Department) and Nebrija University (Rectorate & Alumni Department).
What will you work on? With whom?
I will be working alongside the director of the Institute, providing support in the management of the center. My profile combines organisation and communication skills, ideal for coordinating administrative and scientific areas.
Why did you come to the ICMM?
With many years of experience in the education sector, I believe that working at the ICMM represents an opportunity to be part of a leading institution in scientific research and an excellent opportunity to enhance and develop my professional career in an environment of excellence. It is located in Cantoblanco campus, a quiet environment, ideal workspace and very close to my home.
And a personal touch: any hobbies? What would you like to contribute to the institute?
I am currently doing Barré, a new technique combining Yoga, Pilates and Ballet. It is a very complete exercise that is helping me to improve my posture and tone my muscles.
With over 15 years of experience organizing a wide range of events, I bring both passion and a proven track record to every project I undertake. My enthusiasm for event planning is matched by my commitment to excellent customer service and attention to detail. I believe these qualities, along with my deep understanding of event logistics and stakeholder engagement, would make me a valuable asset to the Committees of the ICMM. I am excited about the opportunity to contribute my skills and energy to support the ICMM's initiatives and goals.
