Alberto Martín-Pérez, Ph.D., is postdoctoral researcher at the Optomechanics Lab of the ICMM. His work focuses on the development of new optomehcanical methods for the detection and measurement of different physical phenomena at the nanoscale, as well as the application of those methods to different fields (communications, pollutants detection, biological particle detection...).
Graduate in physics, he began his research career as Ph.D. candidate at CSIC’s Institute of Micro and Nanotechnology in 2016. In July 2021 he obtained his Ph.D. at the Autonomous University of Madrid with the cum laude mark for his thesis “Transparent Microcapillary Resonator for the Multiparametric Characterization of Cells”. As a result of this work, he published 5 articles at international scientific journals, he registered 2 patents and he made 7 contributions at international conferences.
In addition to his researcher career, Martín-Pérez, takes part in dissemination activities frequently, having participated in more than 20 activities up to the date (march 2022). Some of these activities are, talks for high school students, workshops for general public or articles in non-specialized media. Moreover, in November 2021, he won a dissemination award in the Spanish edition of the contest I’m a Scientist (organized by FECYT and Gallomanor), which has allowed him to lead his own dissemination project: La Mejor Parte de la Ciencia (in Spanish, ‘The best part in science’)
