A Formula 1 follower, Carlos Honrado Benítez joined the ICMM a year ago to take part of the Thin Film Growth and Characterization Service and Carlos Prieto's Virtual lab equipment for sputtering growth. He also provides support tasks for the photoluminescence spectrometer.

What have you worked on so far before ICMM?

Before joining ICMM in a permanent position, I worked for several years as a research technician at the CSIC Instituto de Óptica within the GOLD-FOTION group.

There, I was involved in the research, design, development, and characterization of optical coatings for the far and extreme ultraviolet ranges, with applications in fields such as atmospheric physics, astrophysics, and process control, fulfilling projects and contracts with both public and private entities.

And a personal touch: any hobbies?

Outside of work, I regularly go to the movies and enjoy watching TV series, especially sitcoms. I also like spending time with friends and family, traveling, hiking, going to escape rooms, and watching musicals, among other things. And I'm a Formula 1 follower.
