Meet Leticia Aguado Manjavacas, PhD researcher at the SUPREMA group

Leticia Aguado Manjavacas is from Madrid and she joined the Supramolecular, Polymeric, and Reticular Materials Group (SUPREMA) as a PhD researcher on February. She studied her bachelor's degree in Chemistry from University of Alcalá de Henares, and a master's degree in Organic Chemistry from Autonomous University of Madrid. Then, she started her PhD in Organic Chemistry Department from UAM with María Ribagorda Lobera.

What have you worked on so far?
So far, my research focused on design, sinthesis and characterization of azo-based sensors for bioimaging diagnostics.

What will you work on? With whom?
I am working with Eva M. Maya and Marta Iglesias on the design, sinthesis and characterization of organic porous materials such as hyper-crosslinked porous materials, and it's applications in photocatalityc reactions.

Why ICMM?
In my opinion, here we have a lot of professionals in their respective fields, so I can improve my knowledge in different disciplines.

And a personal touch: any hobbies?
I really enjoy music and sports such as surfing, cycling and contact sports (I'm currently doing Muay-Thai)

What would you like to contribute to the institute?
I can contribute my knowledge in the areas of organic compound synthesis, fluorescent sensors, and catalytic reactions. But it’s true that I feel the institute has more to offer me.
