The workshop 'Nanomaterials for Sustainable Energy Production and Storage', sponsored by the SustainableNano Network and the Severo Ochoa and Max-CSIC projects of the ICMM-CSIC, will bring together leading researchers on 7 April 2026 to explore how nanomaterials are transforming the energy landscape towards more sustainable models. Throughout the day, which will combine in-person sessions in the ICMM-CSIC Assembly Hall with virtual attendance, key advances will be addressed in areas such as batteries and their recycling, safe supercapacitors, superconductivity, thermoelectrics, triboelectrics, photonic nanomaterials, photovoltaic technologies, CO₂ capture and storage, and hydrogen technologies.
The programme is structured around the impact of materials on the generation, conversion, transport, storage, and efficient use of energy, reflecting the breadth and strength of the research driven by the SustainableNano Network in the field of nanomaterials. The event will conclude with a roundtable discussion on the future of energy and the strategic role of materials, featuring contributions from institutional representatives and experts from the scientific and technological sectors.
