Sandra Martínez Chaparro arrived from Colombia many years ago to develop her career in the field of synthesis and characterization of different materials. She has joined the NMR Spectroscopy Service recently, but she had already worked at the ICMM-CSIC before, as she told us.


Where do you come from?
I graduated as a Chemical Engineer in Colombia.  Later, I moved to Spain to do PhD courses in Environmental Technology at the University of Oviedo, where I earned the DEA (Diploma de Estudios Avanzados).

What have you worked on so far?

I previously held the same role at ICMM from 2006 to 2008, and since then, I have participated in various research projects focused on the synthesis and characterization of different materials, both here and at the ICV Institute.

What will you work on?
Providing support for the NMR spectroscopy service since September 23, 2025.
