ROBERTO CARLOS GUERRERO

Roberto Carlos Guerrero Romero is a 2D Foundry member since 2023. He comes from Perú and explains that after he finished his Master's Thesis, he started working as a programmer within a company until he found this opportunity.

What will you work on? With whom?

The objective of the thesis is to demonstrate the potential of Dichalcogenides(TMDs) for the development of unconventional new light sources. The thesis is structured into two parts. Initially, we must identify, design and produce the materials with the requiered characteristics such as emission, gain, etc. The next step is testing these materials by generating lasers, evaluating the ability to operate under electrical stimulation and assessing the synaptic performance and reservoir computing. The project will be supervised by Jorge during the initial phase of the thesis within the "2D Foundry" group and Cefe Lopez during the subsequent phase within the " Photonics Crystal".

Why did you choose ICMM?

The ICMM is an excellent research group, the thesis seems challenging and the environment work is good, what else?

And a personal touch: any hobbies? What would you like to contribute to the institute?

Well, I like sports, but in particular I love Volleyball and Football. Apart from that, I really into horror books, going for walks with my dog and coffee.
