Joaquín Cuartero wants to me called Quino. He is from Madrid and just joined our Materials Science Institute of Madrid as a research assistant in the Electroactive Oxides for Smart Devices group. He is graduated from UAH in chemistry and currently he is studying a University Masters degree in Analytical and Bioanalytical Sciences and Technologies.
What have you worked on so far?
Internships at CEDEX and ICMM working with metals and polymers respectively.
What will you work on? With whom?
"Engineering of Point and Surface Defects for Controlling Interactions Between Ceramic Particles and Polymeric Matrix in Intelligent Hybrid Composite Materials" with Harvey Amorín González
Why did you choose ICMM?
I´m passionate about materials. I believe most of the following ground braking discoveries will come from developing and finding new materials and applications.
And a personal touch: any hobbies? What would you like to contribute to the institute?
If the waves are good, you can find me surfing either the north or south coasts of Spain, otherwise, you can find me playing team sports or enjoying the city with a cold one on a sunny day. I enjoy teasing my brain with quick chess games, riddles or puzzles.
