News at ICMM

  1. New breakthrough in quantum computing: reseachers achieve a semiconductor qubit in a superconducting circuit

A study involving ICMM-CSIC demonstrates a system with great potential for new quantum computer prototypes. It is the first time that these hybrid qubits have been demonstrated in a controlled manner using a quantum dot system.

  2. The stellar wind generated in the atmosphere of the CW Leo star occurs in 'bubbles' of material

A study with the participation of ICMM shows that "bubbles" of grains of dust and molecular gas are formed in the atmosphere of this carbon star depending on their direction.

  3. ICMM celebrates Europe Day with an outreach event at Eugenio Trías Library

The activity carried out with CSIC centres at the UAM campus, was aimed for Secondary students.

  4. Elías Saugar Gotor defends his thesis at ICMM: "In the end, if you make an effort, the work comes out"

The researcher has been working with Oksana Chubykalo-Fesenko at Group of Nanomagnetism and Magnetization Processes

  5. ICMM hosts Neuropic's Kick-off meeting, a European project with a 3M€ budget

Eleven researchers have met to start this project whose aim is to create a network of artificial neurons exploiting thermal energy from the devices themselves.

  6. Eduardo Bernal, Thomas Pucher, Esther Benayas and Laura González, winners of YOUMAT23

I Seminar for Young Materials Researchers (YOUMAT) gets a huge welcome: almost a hundred young researchers were congregated at ICMM on April, 27.

  7. "Don't let reality confuse you": lessons of Mari Ángeles Vozmediano in her ad honorem

The ICMM hosts the congress 'A view from the Dirac cone', in which colleagues of the researcher throughout her life have told how the scientist has influenced their work.

  8. The ICMM-CSIC gets an X-ray diffractometer with three ultra-high brightness sources, unique in Spain

The device, part of the diffraction service, allows working with copper, molybdenum and silver wavelengths.

  9. Fernando Peñaranda is defending his PhD Thesis on April, 19 at ICMM: "My work will help to prove the existence of the so-far-elusive Majorana Bound States"

The scientific has been working with ICMM's researchers Elsa Prada and Pablo San-José.

  10. 4th ESO students visit the ICMM-CSIC

El programa 4º de ESO + Empresa es una iniciativa educativa de la Comunidad de Madrid dirigida a alumnado de dicho curso.
