The event is coordinated by the 2D Foundry group at the Materials Science Institute of Madrid.
The Materials Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM), CSIC, hosts the 2nd Annual Conference on Global Nanotechnology, the first one held in-person, from 19th June to 21st June. The event is coordinated by 2D Foundry Group, led by researcher Andrés Castellanos-Gomez. NanoSeries2023 is a peak gathering of highly cited researchers, and academic, and Industry experts featuring exclusive nanotechnology content and offering a unique platform with endless opportunities to connect with the global Nano community to enrich discussions and networking.
As the event's organization points out, Nanotechnology and Nanoscience have been very active fields of research as we keep finding new intriguing mechanical, optical, magnetic, or electronic phenomena when studying materials and systems at the nanoscale. "Nanoscience and nanotechnology are transversal lines that have an impact in many other disciplines ranging from smart coating, electronic devices to medicine", say the organizers.
Because of the transversal nature of Nanoscience, the coordinating team is preparing an agenda that includes nanodevices, nanomaterials and nanofabrication, energy and sustainability, and life-sciences among other topics. "We are confident that the in-person NanoSeries Conference 2023 (#NanoSeries2023) will run pretty much as pre-COVID times and that we will be able to use this opportunity to build up an open forum to discuss all the different aspects of the matter at the nanoscale, to exchange ideas, to trigger collaborations and to establish new networks", explains Andrés Castellanos, chair of the conference.
"We have fabulous Plenary and keynote speakers", adds Carmen Munuera, co-chair of the event. In fact, some of the speakers are: Hongjie Dai (Stanford University, USA), Sumio Iijima (Meijo University, Japan), Emilio M. Pérez (IMDEA Nanoscience, Spain) Herre van der Zant (Delft University of Technology, Netherlands), Nasim Annabi (UCLA, USA), Conchi Serrano (ICMM-CSIC, Spain), Jordi Arbiol (ICREA and Institut Català de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia (ICN2), Spain), etc.
