JAE-Intro students 2022

The Material Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) welcomes this summer ten new students who are beginning their research careers thanks to our Introductory Research Scholarship Program JAEIntro.

This month we have received the visit of Natalia Villar, Nagore Hernández, Jaime González, Francisco Javier Fernández, Daniel Michel González, Sara Señorans, María Echaniz, Sergio Jiménez, Marcos Arranz y Clara Galante.

After a selection process, the ten students have already joined their jobs in Advanced Electronics and Photonics, Materials for Energy, Sustainability and the Environment, Quantum Materials and Technologies, and Materials for Health. Thanks to this CSIC scholarship program, they are already working with prestigious researchers at the ICMM: María Concepción Serrano, Javier Méndez, Javier Pérez, Carlos Sánchez, Ramón Aguado, Eva Maya, Lourdes Calzada, Jesús González, Leni Bascones y Pablo Merino.

These scholarships of 3.000 euros (1.000€/month) each have a duration of three months. The students joined our institute on the 1st of July and will work with us until the 30th of September. During their stay, they will have the opportunity to broaden their professional horizons, testing whether the scientific research is for them. Besides, they will receive a certificate at the end of their stay.

These scholarships aim to help university students who are in the last or penultimate year of their degree. The objective is that they can start working on the research activity, in such a way that they can connect with institutes, mixed centers, and units of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC).
