He’s from the beautiful city of Aranjuez, in Madrid, but not long ago he was living in Argentina. He is Roberto Moreno, a postdoctoral researcher at the Nanomagnetism and Magnetic Processes group. He joined he group last November.
Where do you come from?
My previous position was postdoctoral fellowship in Conicet. Specifically in Córdoba, Argentina.
What have you worked on so far?
My expertise is in modelling magnetic processes of nanostructured materials. Applications of this expertise range from predicting novel phenomena for the desing of novel devices for computation, for biomedicine or geosciences.
What will you work on? With whom?
Now I am involved on the understanding of magnetic processes at the nanoscale in systems with potential applicaions for the desing of novel computational architectures. Very open mind to continuing applying my expertise on biomedicine or geosciencies. Currently, I am working with Oksana Fesenko.
Why ICMM?
It is place where, in the one hand all, facilities neccesary for my research are available. On the other, the research group I am involved is very active, and also comprehensive in terms of theoretical, numerical and experimental researchers.
And a personal touch: any hobbies?
One for each postdoc: whisky from Scotland and mate from Argentina. Also sports, being climbing the main activity.
What would you like to contribute to the institute?
I would like to become a fundamental part of the ICMM in terms of funding, publications and human resources.
