The Materials Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) is searching for 10 individuals interested in completing their doctoral thesis at our center. The contracts are part of the Doctors Training Programme of the Spanish Research Agency. More specifically, “proyectos susceptibles de ayudas para contratos predoctorales 2022 Severo Ochoa y María de Maeztu”, in its 2022 call.
The ICMM (icmm.csic.es) is a prestigious research centre located in Madrid (Spain) aimed at the generation of fundamental and applied knowledge of new materials and processes, and its transfer to the productive sector.
The ICMM looks for young researchers willing to do their PhD in a dynamic, international scientific environment, collaborating with leaders in different fields of Materials Science.
We offer:
- 4 year contract to complete a doctoral thesis, in the framework of the 2022 call convocatoria de la AEI (in Spanish)
- Formative environment with courses and seminar series
- Doctorate Committee to monitor progress
- Topics on the frontier of Materials Science
Research Areas of the positions offered:
Materials for digital information: 5 positions
Materials for a sustainable world: 3 positions
Materials for health: 2 positions
**The specific titles and thesis projects will be published 19th January
Formalities:
Candidates must have a degree either in physics, chemistry, materials science, biology or equivalent, and a master before the start of the contract, scheduled from September 2023
Applications from students that are currently studying a master finishing before September 2024 are accepted.
