The event is coordinated by researcher Ricardo García and his team: Víctor G. Gisbert, Francisco Espinosa, Diana M. Arvelo and Clara G. Sacristán.
The Materials Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM), CSIC, is hosting on June, 14th-16th, the 9th Multifrequency AFM Conference, 2nd Symposium on Solid-Liquid Interfaces and 3rd Symposium on Cell and Soft Matter Nanomechanics. The 9th Multifrequency AFM conference covers all the topics related to the development of advanced AFM methods and it is the largest international conference devoted to force microscopy methods and applications.
The Chairperson is the ICMM's researcher Ricardo Garcia. The organizing committee is composed by young researchers Victor G. Gisbert, Francisco Espinosa, Diana Mendez, and Clara Garcia.
García explains that the Multifrequency AFM conference series aims to provide an environment where the experts and the newcomers in the force microscopy and nanomechanics fields share knowledge, expertise, and ideas about instrumentation, methodologies, and theoretical aspects of advanced atomic force microscopy. That is why it comprises any of the aspects of force microscopy: theory, experiments, applications, instrumentation, software, etc.
As complementary activities, the 9th Multifrequency AFM will include the 3rd Symposium on Cell and Soft Matter Nanomechanics and the 2nd Symposium on Solid-Liquid Interfaces
Some of the topics to be highlighted in the 9th Multifrequency AFM Conference will be: High-Speed AFM, Nanomechanics, Bimodal AFM, High resolution imaging of soft matter, 3D imaging of solid-liquid interfaces, Cantilever design and dynamics and Multifrequency methods. By its part, in the 3rd Symposium on Cell and Soft Matter Nanomechanics the highlighted topics are: Nanorheology, Mechanobiology, AFM applications in biomedicine, Imaging cells and lipid bilayers by AFM, Nanomechanical properties of polymers and theory of viscoelasticity.
The plenary talk will be given by Arvind Raman (Purdue Univeristy), while the keynote talk will be given by Takeshi Fukuma (Kanazawa Univerisity). The conference will feature 14 invited and 15 expert presentations delivered by some of the most active scientists in the field.
