Francisco Lobo was born in Porto, Portugal, and just come to the Material Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) to work alongside ICMM's researcher Pablo San-José at the group of Theory of Quantum Materials and Solid State Quantum Technologies. Meet him here.
What have you worked on so far?
I obtained both my bachelor’s and master's degree in Physics at Universidade do Minho in Portugal.
What will you work on? With whom?
I will be working within the field of many-body atosecond physics under the supervision of Pablo San-José. We are interested in the real-time electronic dynamics of generic 2D structures under intense attosecond pulses mainly their nonlinear
response, e.g. real-time formation of excitons and their propagation.
Why did you choose ICMM?
The interests of the Pablo's group follow as a direct continuation of my Master's thesis work, which I loved. Also, awesome wholesome people.
And a personal touch, any hobbies?
Vivid enjoyer of Ben 10.
