New incorporation to the Institute of Materials Science of Madrid! Borja Caja is a chemical engineer and joins the Energy Conversion and Storage group, with María Asensio. This is how he introduces himself:
Chemical Engineer by training (UCM Degree and UAM-URJC Master), I did my external internships and my Master's Final Project under the direction of Dr. Pilar Aranda at the ICMM between 2014 and 2015. Thanks to this experience I was able to embark on an adventure of three and a half years at the SOLEIL synchrotron (Gif-sur-Yvette, France) focused on the characterization of materials from industrial projects (XPS, XAS), with samples from companies such as Total, L'Oréal and Rolex among others. This period gave me the necessary impetus to start a PhD at the Commissariat for Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies (Saclay, France) based on the design, assembly and characterization of organic redox flow batteries by means of 3D printing and magnetic resonance (NMR). , MRI).
The experience acquired over the last three years has allowed me to join the GREENER group together with Professor María C. Asensio, in order to develop an ambitious multidisciplinary industrial research plan (LION-HD project, funded by the CDTI Missions program), whose objective is the search, synthesis and characterization of cathodes for lithium batteries proposed using Artificial Intelligence methods applied to materials as a guide. I consider myself a proactive, sociable person with organizational skills, a lover of sports and music in equal measure, but above all passionate about a job that allows me to collaborate to the best of my ability to achieve a necessary change in the energy paradigm.
