Juliana Eusse Guerra joined the Administrative Services of the Materials Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC), where she is working alongside Daniel López in the procurement office. She is from Colombia but has lived in Madrid for 10 years.
What have you worked on so far?
I hold a University Degree on Communication and Journalism, and Masters Degree on communication of armed conflicts and social movements by the UAB. I developed my career in a top Colombian newspaper, mostly covering the armed conflict in my country. Then I moved to the civil administration and joined my home regional government to communicate the social policies and initiatives. Lastly, I aspire to become a civil servant, so I have been preparing myself heavily to do so. My latest experience in Spain was the INSS, where I was responsible of different benefits for citizens.
What will you work on? With whom?
I will be, or I already am, working alongside with Daniel López, in the procurement office.
And a personal touch: any hobbies? What would you like to contribute to the institute?
I love dancing, and also baking, so I spent hours in my kitchen baking cakes and other delicious deserts. I am passionate about neuroscience books, because I like to understand how our ‘command center’ works. I hope to contribute to the ICMM with experience, talent, and will to build. Being from another country, another culture, provides you with a different perspective of life, and that broadens any work team. Diversity enriches, in my opinion.
