The Material Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) has, in the end, its own International Projects Office, led by Belén Illana, our new woman in the office.
Where do you come from?
I studied Biology and made a PhD in Molecular Biology at Centro de Biología Molecular Severo Ochoa - CSIC
What have you worked on so far?
After my research life, I have been working in Research Project management for sixteen years. Mainly, I have been working at CSIC but also at FIIBAP and IMDEA Energy.
What will you work on? With whom?
I will be working in the International Projects Office with the director’s team.
Why did you choose ICMM?
ICMM is a prestigious center with very well-known researchers and appealing research lines. I think it is plenty of possibilities for the development of the internationalization plan of CSIC.
And a personal touch: any hobbies? What would you like to contribute to the institute?
I love reading and hiking. I would like to promote the participation in international programmes by helping the researchers during the whole life cycle of projects.
