JAZMIN MELISSA

Her name is Jazmin Melissa Mayta Milla and she just started her PhD work on all-solid-state batteries (ASSB) at the Energy Conversion, Harvesting and Storage Group at the Materials Science Institute of Madrid. She is from Peru and got her degree in Chemistry from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.

What have you worked on so far?

I earned a degree in Chemistry from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), where I completed my Final Degree Project at the Institute of Ceramics and Glass (ICV). After that, I continued with an internship at ICV, where I was involved in different projects. However, my main focus during this period was the development of high porosity carbon materials for applications in high performance supercapacitor electrodes. Later, I pursued a master's degree in advanced materials, nanotechnology and photonics, during which I continued the project I started during my internship at ICV. This experience allowed me to deepen my understanding of energy storage and sparked my interest in different types of energy storage devices.

What will you work on? With whom?

I will be joining the  Energy Conversion, Harvesting and Storage Group to conduct my PhD research on all-solid-state batteries (ASSBs) under the supervision of Ainara Aguadero and Henrik Andersen.

Why ICMM?

I believe ICMM provides a great opportunity to expand my knowledge in energy storage by exploring a different type of device from what I have previously worked on. This experience will allow me to broaden my expertise in the field.

And a personal touch: any hobbies? What would you like to contribute to the institute?

I enjoy watching series and practising sports like swimming. I also like going out with friends and making the most of good weather. At ICMM, I hope to contribute to the development of materials for ASSB and actively collaborate with my research group.
