Harvey Amorín received his PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Aveiro (Portugal) in 2005. He joined the Materials Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) in 2006 and became Tenured Scientist in 2017. His field of expertise covers ferroelectrics, piezoelectrics, multiferroics and magnetoelectrics; in ceramics, thin films and hybrid polymer-based composites; all considered prototypes of multifunctionality. Research interest includes processing by advanced synthesis and sintering methods of bulk materials with emphasis in nanostructuring and size effects.

Co-author of more than 100 articles in SCI journals (h-index = 20), 2 book chapters, 4 European patents, more than 150 research works at international conferences, 7 Invited Talks, and 2 research works that received the National Prize of the Cuban Academy of Sciences. At present, he is Vice-president of the Ceramics for Energy and Electronics section of the Spanish Society of Ceramic and Glass (SECV) and Associate Editor of the Boletín de la Sociedad Española de Cerámica y Vidrio.
