The Scientific and Technical Services Unit of the ICMM comprises 10 scientific and technical services and a team of 12 technical specialist working in them, counting with the additional help of 15 staff scientists and 2 transversal technicians.

The Characterization Unit´s goal is to procure a fundamental tool for the research development in the areas of Physics, Chemistry, and Materials Science. Its fundamental task is to provide scientific and technical support to the research groups at the ICMM, Universities, and Companies requesting them.

La Unidad de Servicios Científico-Técnicos se encuentra actualmente en proceso de obtención de la certificación ISO 9001. En el marco de este proceso, se ha definido la Política de Calidad.

Asimismo, para coordinar y supervisar las acciones necesarias para la obtención y mantenimiento de dicha certificación, se ha constituido un Comité de Calidad, integrado por:

  • Técnico/a Responsable de los siguientes servicios:

    • Análisis Químico y Térmico

    • Resonancia Magnética Nuclear

    • Caracterización Textural

    • Magnetometría SQUID y Bajas Temperaturas

    • Micro y Nanofabricación (Sala Blanca)

    • Crecimiento y Caracterización de Láminas Delgadas

    • Espectroscopía Infrarroja y Elipsometría

    • Difracción de Rayos X

    • Microscopía Electrónica
       
       

The Scientific and Technical Services Unit is currently in the process of obtaining ISO 9001 certification. As part of this process, a Quality Policy has been defined.

Furthermore, to coordinate and oversee the actions necessary for obtaining and maintaining this certification, a Quality Committee has been established, comprised of:

  • Quality Coordinator

  • Deputy Director

  • USCT Coordination

  • Technical Personnel Responsible for the Following Services:

    • Chemical and Thermal Analysis

    • Nuclear Magnetic Resonance

    • Textural Characterization

    • SQUID Magnetometry and Low-Temperature Measurements

    • Micro and Nanofabrication (Cleanroom)

    • Characterization and Growth of Thin Films

    • Ellipsometry and Infrared Spectroscopy 

    • X-ray Diffraction

    • Electron Microscopy

The Unit provides this form as a way of communicating proposals for improvement, and expressing dissatisfaction or congratulations with the Scientific and Technological Services.
