Isabel Sobrados and Virginia Diez, researchers at the Materials Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC), organized the last edition of the International School on  Applications of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance in the Solid State, which took place at the ICMM facilities on October 20-21.

This edition of the course attracted the attention of fifty people, including three dozen students, who learned about lessons about theoretical foundations of the technique, experimental considerations, calculation of NMR parameters, applications to the study of: minerals, zeolites, catalysts, organic compounds, glasses, polymers, ceramics, cements, electrodes, solid electrolytes, MOFs, and living organisms, among others.

The lecturers were Pierre Florian (CEMHTI-UPR3079, CNRS, France), Juan Miguel López del Amo (CICENERGIGUNE), María José de la Mata (SIDI-UAM), Encarnación Fernández-Valle (UCM), José Ignacio Santos (SGIker-UPV/EHU), Joaquín Martínez (UA), Ana Fernández (IETCC-CSIC), Leoncio Garrido (ICTP-CSIC), Miguel Ángel Mompeán (IQF-CSIC), María Dolores Alba (ICMSE-CSIC), Manuel Sánchez (ICP-CSIC), Francisco Muñoz (ICV-CSIC), Luis Sánchez (MNCN-CSIC), Jesús Sanz (Ah honorem ICMM-CSIC), Celia Castillo (ICMM-CSIC), Virginia Diez (ICMM-CSIC) and Isabel Sobrados (ICMM-CSIC).
