Jorge Alejandro López Solaiman is a new predoctoral researcher at the Material Science Institute of Madrid. He comes from Murcia and just joined the Nanomagnetism and Magnetization Processes Group.
What have you worked on so far?
During my master's studies, I worked on lithographic methods and the fabrication of compact monolayers. The idea was to create magnetic nanostructures using high magnetostrictive materials for cellular stimulation. In particular, I worked with human glioblastoma cells on magnetostrictive surfaces to analyze the effects induced by alternating magnetic fields.
What will you work on? With whom?
My intention is to continue learning about magnetic properties and explore characterization and nanofabrication methods for biomedical applications with the aid of Eider Berganza and Agustina Asenjo from the Nanomagnetism and Magnetization Processes Group.
Why did you choose ICMM?
I believe this is a great opportunity to start working due to its positive work environment, the possibility of collaborating with different groups, and attending events where I can continue learning.
And a personal touch: any hobbies? What would you like to contribute to the institute?
I enjoy hiking and watching series. I would like to contribute to the institute by researching magnetic nanostructures for biomedical applications.
