Guillermo Vergara Gómez starts his PhD thesis at the ICMM

There is a new guy at the office/labs! Guillermo Vergara Gómez just joined the Material Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) as a new predoctoral researcher. He is already working with Bernd Wicklein and Cristina Pascual. This young researcher is from Madrid and has experience with different 3D printing processes to develop systems for various applications.

What will you work on? With whom?

Here in ICMM, now I will be working in the nanoenergy laboratory by developing nanogenerators based on piezoelectric biocomposites produced by 3D printing. All of this together with Cristina Pascual and Bernd Wicklein.

Why did you choose ICMM?

I think that it is good place to develop my labour.

And a personal touch: any hobbies? What would you like to contribute to the institute?

Hobbies, quite a lot, i am a kinda a Barbie, each day one complete different thing; but I specially like practice sports, my favorite ones are surfing, bodyboarding and also any activity at the mountain. Also, a curious hobby that I have it is making cardboard
puppets and props.
