ELENA SIMÓN (materiales Cuánticos) (600X400).jpg

Her name is Elena Simon Felix and she is a young researcher who just joined the Material Science Institute of Madrid and the  Quantum Materials for Quantum Technologies group thanks to a JAE Intro grant. She will be at the ICMM during six month.

Where do you come from?

I am originally from Madrid, where I completed my undergraduate degree at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Then, I moved to Barcelona for a year to pursue a Master’s degree in High Energy Physics

What have you worked on so far?

My research so far has been focused on high-energy physics phenomenology, particularly in areas related to quantum gravity. However, I’m excited to explore the field of quantum materials, as it offers a fresh learning opportunity.

What will you work on? With whom?

My project will be focused on quantum dots formed by three quantum holes, studying their interactions and viability. I will be working on this research under the supervision of Dr. Maria Jose Calderon Prieto

Why did you choose ICMM?

ICMM is an ideal environment to learn about this field, surrounded by some of the most esteemed scientists. In addition to its academic advantages, I appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and the beautiful campus setting amidst nature.
