López Esteban, Sonia

Dr. Sonia Lopez-Esteban has Degree in Physics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), a Degree in Materials Science Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and a Ph.D. in Sciences (Physics) from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. She has developed her research career at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC: ICMM and CINN) and at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL, Berkeley, California, USA), with stays at renowned centers in Japan, Germany, France and USA. Her research is focused on advanced ceramic materials for high added value applications, with special interest in mechanical, catalytic, biomedical, electronic and magnetic properties. She has supervised 2 Doctoral Theses, participated in 30 R&D projects obtained in competitive public calls from different administrations, of which she has led 10. She is inventor of 10 patents and author of more than 50 articles in prestigious international indexed journals (h-index: 23). She has experience in R&D Management both at the national level in Spain -CSIC- and at international level -European Commission-.
