Iván Bejarano Paniagua joined the Materials Science Institute of Madrid and is working at the Multiscale Materials Modelling group since May 1st as a PhD researcher. He is from Arroyo de la Luz, Cáceres, but he completed both his Physics degree and his Master's at the University of Salamanca.
What have you worked on so far?
My research experience so far includes my Bachelor's and Master's theses, in which I analyzed the emergence of chaos in a Bose-Hubbard system
What will you work on? With whom?
I will be working on replacing rare earth elements in permanent magnets with high-entropy alloys (HEAs) and studying their magnetic properties. I will be supported in this work by Silvia Gallego and Ramón Cuadrado.
Why ICMM?
Because I have a strong interest in solid-state and condensed matter physics, and when I learned about the topic of this PhD, I immediately knew I wanted to research it.
And a personal touch: any hobbies? What would you like to contribute to the institute?
In my free time, I enjoy playing video games, playing chess, watching anime, and reading manga. I hope that through my research, I can contribute to the institute’s advancement in the field of sustainable magnetic materials.
