Aday Cárdenas González

Aday Cárdenas González has just arrived to the Material Science Institute of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) from Burgos. He studied for his Physics degree at Valladolid and did a master's degree on High Energy Physics and Cosmology in Barcelona; then he worked on finance for a couple of years and now he is coming back to research, "where I can give the best version of myself", he says.

What will you work on? With whom?

I will work on Attophysics, more specifically on Lightwave control of transient electronic properties in 2D materials, under the supervision of Álvaro Jiménez.

Why did you choose ICMM?

I find in ICMM a very active environment that will help me a lot on the development of my career. It offers many opportunities to grow within and beyond the purposes of my PhD.

And a personal touch: any hobbies? What would you like to contribute to the institute?

I am interested in a wide variety of topics, and it is always nice to learn about anything new. I especially like live music and sports, but most of all I love to do so with my friends. I want to bring to ICMM this curious and friendly attitude to make this a more interesting and enjoyable.
