Alfredo Jacas born in Santiago de Cuba (Cuba) in 1957. He studied Physics (Degree, 1981) at the “Enrique José Varona Pedagogical University” (Havana, Cuba), where he remained as a lecturer for 27 years until 2005. During this period, he also joined the Physics Department of the Bahir Dar Teachers College (1981-83) as a collaborator. In 2005, he moved to Spain homologating his title to the Spanish equivalent (Oct./2005) A. Jacas worked as a Research Assistant during the period 2005-2012 at the ICMM-CSIC and became part of the technical staff (Specialized Superior Technician) in 2012. He obtained the Diploma of Pedagogical Aptitude Course (CAP) from the Complutense University in 2006 and the Diploma of Advanced Studies (DEA) from the National Distance Education University, (UNED, 2008), where he is enrolled in the UNED doctoral school program until obtaining the PhD degree (PhD. May 2021).

Nowadays, Alfredo Jacas Rodriguez develops his professional activity at the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid (ICMM) belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). He is a member of the technical staff dedicated to electronics, automation and control of experiments and vacuum solutions. A. Jacas has published 11 scientific articles in science and technology. and 20 contributions to international conferences, including his role as a member of the Organizing Committee of the III Ibero-American Workshop on Materials Science Education TIECIM'02 (June 2002). He supervised more than 25 education degree projects during his lecture activity at the Enrique José Varona" Univ. (1985-2005). He has participated in 16 research projects and has made several academic stays in other Spanish institutions: Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (1996, 2000-2001), the Instituto de Catalisis y Petroleoquímica (ICP-CSIC, 1996) and also international Institutions (Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (Mexico DF. 1995).

Before joining the technical staff of the CSIC, A. Jacas stood out as an entrepreneur and self-employed worker under the trade name InfoCaribe Spain (small and medium size enterprise) dedicated to the maintenance and repair of consumer electronics and professional Web page design.
