Abstact: In this talk, the fundamentals of multiple scattering theory applied to flexural waves in thin elastic plates will be used in order to analyze the eigenmodes of finite structures of point-like resonators, focusing on non-periodic structures, such as quasicrystals and twisted bilayers. A version of modal expansion for open systems will be presented, showing its capability for reducing computational cost and opening new ways for solving inverse problems in metamaterials.
