My research line is focused on the field of Nanomagnetism which deals with magnetic phenomena on short length-scales and in low dimensional systems. Main goals of this research field are to produce and understand new magnetic materials and phenomena by developing appropriate fabrication and characterization methodologies.

In particular, David Navas is interested in preparing nanostructures, with reduced feature sizes, controlled layer thickness, complex morphologies and variable compositions. As an example, we can highlight the development of lateral exchange spring media, artificial antidot arrays, magnetoplasmonic systems, and 1-, 2- and even 3D magnonic crystals, which could be useful for a range of applications like data storage, energy and bio-medical applications.

During his research carrier, he has had an active participation in more than 20 projects funded by different National and International organisms, and he was the project leader of more than 5 projects (2 European projects). His scientific work has been presented over 100 times in International conferences and he published more than 60 scientific papers and 3 book chapters.
