  • Ramón Aguado, from ICMM-CSIC, and an international team have explained why electron transport through quantum point contacts shows deviations that cannot be explained within the expected picture of independent quantum waves, a problem that remained unsolved since 1995. The results published in Nature are of importance for assessing the role of quantum point contacts in proposals for spintronic and quantum information applications. CSIC press release
