Ordered arrays of magnetic antidots

Studies on arrays of Ni, Co and Py nanoholes or antidots are being performed. Anisotropy in the magnetization process is determined by analysing the angular dependence of the hysteresis loops parameters. In addition, anisotropic magnetoresistance studies have been started recently which interpretation is complemented by the information gained from the loops analysis.

Magnetic domain imaging is performed by Magnetic Force Microscopy and magnetization reversal processes are studied by VSM and Magneto-optic Kerr effect.

Recently, investigation on antidot arrays has been extended to reflectometry response, in the synchroton radiation facility in Campinas, and Rutherford facility in Oxford, as well as magnetic domain observation by Magnetic Transmission X-ray Microscopy Advanced Light Source in Lawrence Berkeley National Lab.
