“Acoustic and thermodynamicla properties at low temperatures on
molecular glasses” Ref.: BFM2003-04622 /FISI
To perform exhaustive investigations on the acoustic properties (sound velocity) at low temperatures and about the glass transition temperature of several physical systems showing different degree of disorder. Also pressure dependent investigations are planned.
These studies will be performed by using High Resolution Brillouin Spectroscopy.
Ethanol, 1-Propanol and 2-Propanol, mixed systems alcohol-water, Glycerol
and Amber are the main subjects of research.
These studies will help to gain more insight in the nature of the
fundamental phenomenon of the glass transition.
